He also is a very good shot blocker. In his limited minutes he averaged over 1 blk a game in most seasons.

He averaged 1.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 10.1 minutes in the postseason with the Heat.

veteran's minimum contract worth $1.146 million

Really why..

This guy stinks

Now I regret not having Reggie Evans can we make a trade

Really why!!!!!!!

Unexpected but a solid get.A big body who can get some rebounds and maybe a block or 2.Brings some toughness to our team and can be similar to Reggie but I don't think he will being the same type of energy Reggie brought.Seems to be a good teammate and in my opinion is a better option off the bench than Hollins.

Reggie was a fan favorite. Rebounded his ass off. Very similar salaries. I don't like this at all. If he was any good the heat would have kept him. They lack big men as well.

I am confused and shocked by this signing.

Ronny does Nada. I would rather have Clipper Daryl on the floor. This is a pure waste of a roster space.

GO figure...

I strangely like it his defensive activity in Miami helped fuel lots of fastbreak counter attack points in Miami in his limited time on the floor hopefully he can help us in that department...

Lol in all seriousness who's next on our list... Dj mbemga anybody?

Can you explain to me what do you expect from the 5th big man spot that wont play unless their is a injury. You do realize their are only so many minutes in a game.

At the position I would like a guy that is great in the locker wont mind riding the pine. When he gets his chance he will bust his ass.

Reggie wouldn't want to come back because he would be behind lamar and maybe hollins. Reggie is good enough to get minutes on some other team why would he sign here. Last year reggie battled with k-mart and lost out at minutes. Lamar is way better then k-mart and will play more then him so reggie would barely goo off the bench.

my archnemisis in college. one of my college buddies got into an "altercation" with the guy after a game. all we need now is adam morrison to recreate the gonzaga connection.

this signing makes much more sense than ryan hollins (why get a bootleg version of deandre jordan?).

I actually like this signing a lot, Hollins and Turiaf will really make DJ work for his minutes. Turiaf is also one of the best bench cheerleaders in the league, the guy shows passion not only on the court, but also off.

Its not the same situation....Reggie would expect more playing time now as a result of his good play last season and there where was none for him since we signed Odom....Turiaf wont expect any playing time... big difference...

People actually don't like Ronny? Imo he's a great hustle and defense guy. Anything else is extra. Love the way we rounded out our team! Now invite Morrison and Pietrus + 2 or 3 more to camp and let the fight it out for the last roster spots.

DJ/Turiaf/Hollins

Griffin/Odom/Thompkins

Butler/Hill/Morrison

Billups/Crawford/Leslie

Paul/Bledsoe/Battle

Deepest team in the league, bar none. Send Battle, Thompkins, and Leslie down to the D League. I think Battle would make a good IR.

Reggie came out of nowhere last season...and pretty much earned his contract for this season...nobody , expected crap from him....Turiaf may be this seasons Reggie Evans...none of us know yet, so id suggest you let it play out before you make yet another negative assumption. 8)

They're pretty similar but for end of the bench minimum contract, why not just bring back the fan's favorite. I like Turiaf but loved Reg. I do not believe for a second that he didn't want to stay in LaLa.

I don't have a problem with you but your negativity is becoming annoying.I kind of get your point and I agree Reggie was a fan favorite and a hustle player but to say someone stinks by going off a post season stat is dumb.Ronny is basically the same player as Reggie but Reggie is a slightly better rebounder. But what we get with Ronny is a bigger guy,a better shot blocker, and most importantly a BETTER free throw shooter. The hack-a-Reggie bs can hurt us a lot especially in the playoffs. So before you get all negative and think the Clippers FO are making mistakes they are actually preparing for the playoffs by choosing Ronny over Reggie so relax man.

Well, at least we brought in a guy with championship experience. Ronny Turiaf is taller than Reggie and shoots FT's better than Reggie. Reggie is obviously the much better rebounder. Reggie was probably was looking for a multi-year where we were only interested in giving him a 1 year.

am a big Ronny Turiaf fan, and was pleasantly surprised to see him signed as a Clipper.... another intangibles guy.... definitely a plus, and someone Vinny can deal with, as opposed to KMart.... also someone who can play playoff basketball.... this signing is a big help....

Bobby Simmons and we're done ?

Again, Reggie wouldnt get any subtantial playing time since we signed Odom...thus the reason why he was let go and as a result we signed a guy like Turiaf who doesnt have the same need.

You're wrong on this one Clippersam I of course would have rather had Reggie Evans as well but Ronny Turiaf is a solid pick up as a 12THMAN of the BENCH.

He can rebound and defend that's all we needed he's a good towel waver on the bench too. Really though I watched him play against Marc Gasol about a week ago and Turiaf just shut him down on defense(Spain VS France).

Serious bro.

I am in no way trying to be Negative on this one. I am more shocked than anything else. I really didn't expect this one. It caught me by surprise. Ronny is the 13th guy. So it wont make a huge difference either way. I don't like the way the man plays. I just believe he pretends to play basketball. I am sure he will give us a few good minutes.

I just thought there were better options available. That's my shock..

Morrisson, Malcom Thomas, Mc Ghee, Armstrong, White our summer league guys. Even there were talks of Bobby Simmons. I thought this was like Willie Green a fake post.

But I don't want to come off as a stickler.

Seriously what damage can the man do.

If you guys are happy with Turriaf. Than I'll be fine with him.

There really is no love loss here.

Hopefully that is positive enough.

I am not trying to be the downer.

Ok great pick Lakers. I mean Clippers - Just trying to be funny

Yaa Clippers Great 13th pick

is that positive enough - Can we plz laugh now. You guys take everything way to serious sometimes...

^ I agree with Apostle. Reggie was a crowd pleaser and a great rebounder, but Turiaf is slightly better on offense. Also, I'm loving the fact that Turiaf is in the Olympics since it'll only better his game (the dood came into the league in 2005 or 2006). Solid pick up for vets min.

^ We always start the season with 14. One roster spot for a 10 day contract in case of injury. Would like to see us round it out to 15 this season. With all the versatility and depth on this roster, we wont need that extra spot. I say sign low risk, high reward guys. Taylor Battle played fantastic for us and so did AMMO. I want to see them get invited to training camp.
