It seems like every once in a blue moon 4 teams from one division make the playoffs. In the past decade I remember this happening at least twice, and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened again this year.

Clippers: We added Jamal Crawford, Grant Hill, Lamar Odom, while re-signing our top free agent and our player coach. We improved while keeping continuity, we are bound for success.

Lakers: I despise Laker fans, but as pure basketball fans we must admit they improved with the addition of Nash and Jamison. Also, keeping two top notch 7 footers makes them a big threat.

Warriors: I truly believe this is their year to make the playoffs. They added Bogut, Carl Landry as a backup!!Also, they have a rising star in Klay Thompson. As long as Stephen Curry isn't injured they are a legitimate chance to make the playoffs.

Suns: They added Dragic, Scola, and Beasley!! Wow, not bad for a post Steve Nash era. You also have to consider Morris' extreme potential and Gortat's stability at center. The suns know how to make the playoffs when people least expect it.

Kings: Not gonna happen this year, the only weak team of the Pacific thus far.

Overall, we as Clipper fans cannot underestimate our division. WE MUST play hard game in and out, especially against our division.

Kings just keep adding talent but don't have a direction. same with warriors. neither will make playoffs, IMO

@ericgordon, as knowledgeable basketball fans we see that the flakers added by subtraction. sure, they improved at the pg position and jamison is better than any bench player they have had, but with those two additions they lost on defense. they will struggle even more when facing fast pg's than last year because nash is on the slow side. i do agree with your assessment of the clips. we added depth and more experience. plus our weakest position depth wise was improved in that we added hollins and turiaf.

kings are sht. Warriors have a direction, they fixed what was wrong from last year and previous years, you shouldn't count them out!

PG - Curry, Jack

SG - Klay, Rush

PF - Lee, Tyler

C - Bogut, Biedrins

SF - Barnes, Jefferson

You can't sleep on that team. A healthy Bogut is top 5 Center. If Curry doesn't have his annual ankle injury ( but he will ) is top 10 player at this position. Klay, this kid could play, scorer! Lee's a decent PF averaging 15+ points/game. And if Barnes lives up to his potential he will make a impact. And adding Jarret is solid if Curry out he'll be a good starter and Rush is good 7th man. While they won't do better than 8th seed they will cause team loses impacting standings.

Come on, our 8th seed was Utah, this team healthy would sweep them like a candle!

While I somewhat agree with what you say about the roster, I have two words for you...

Mark Jackson.

Scratch that... FOUR words...

Mark Jackson lousy coach.

Oh and the Suns won't make the playoffs this season. GS has a good shot. NO WAY the two teams from LA mis the playoffs, I don't get what everyone is bickering about.

Looks pretty even to me, if your looking at all the numbers.....and the total of the 19 meetings they've had, it's 10-9 in favor of Nash. Close match up like I said.

I like the Warriors and Hornets this year.I think both teams made improvements and even though both teams didn't have good years last year if you remember they had some really close games against top teams and even beat some of the better teams.Their reserves really stepped it up when players got injured last season and tried to be as competitive as possible.I think these two teams are going to make strong pushes to make it to the play offs.

I think the Horents,Warriors,Mavs,Nuggets,Grizzlies and Wolves are all going to be battling for the 5-8 spots. The West Conferance improved a lot from last year.

Personally I think this is how the West will look:

1.Thunder

2.Lakers

3.Spurs

4.Clippers

5.Wolves

6.Grizzlies

7.Nuggets

8.Warriors/Hornets

I think 1-4 and 5-8 are really toss ups for positioning. And of course this is only if the teams can stay healthy.I think Even though Suns,Mavs, and Jazz added some solid pieces they are not as good as these other teams.

Why are the wolves over there, they have no defense and no really good guard who can play minutes!

In the Pacific Division IMO only the Clippers and Lakers will make the playoffs. The suns, warriors, and kings are bottom feeders and rebuilding/retooling.

I agree with your top 4. The Wolves are too high, seeing that Rubio is out until March, I think. Without Rubio, they aren't better than Memphis or Denver(especially since they got Iggy). Also, Denver looked pretty good last year, and only dropped to the 6th spot when they started having all kinds of injury problems. When they got healthy, they almost ousted the Lakers in the first round. A healthy lineup plus Iggy makes them very scary. Also, I still think the new look Mavs are better than Golden State and New Orleans. My 5-8 would be:

  1. Denver

  2. Memphis

  3. Dallas

  4. Minnesota

Other teams with legitimate playoff hopes: Portland, Utah, New Orleans, Golden State. Only Sacramento, Houston and Phoenix look like locks for the lottery.

Not sure where you heard Rubio will be out until March...I think he'll back sometime in December or maybe late November and with him in the line up they'll finish higher than 8th IMO.:

I know everyone hates ESPN around here, but here's their prediction. Their top 7 matches up perfectly with what I posted a few days ago.

just cuz your prediction matches up to espn's doesnt mean anything. aside from the thunder still being the team to beat, the 2nd through 4th spots are intercheangeable between the spurs, clips and lakers.

I didn't say it meant anything. I just thought it was interesting that it matched up perfectly. Also, I'm not sure they are as interchangeable as you think. The lakers improved more than we did this summer.

don't really think so, Clippers and Lakers will be at the top of the division, don't see much production coming out of Phoenix or Sac town, GS might surprise the division but i doubt it
