Hey Ya'll!

Saw that Grant Hill, DJ, and Blake have a thread... lets have a thread all about Mr. Big Shot!

I've been hearing about how well his conditioning is over this summer, how he's lost a lot of weight... How he can't wait to get back!

I also read on BleacherReport (owned by the Lakers) and read a story on Billups... one quote was interesting

"2004 NBA Finals MVP Chauncey Billups will be out for at least the first two months of the season" ...

Is this true? THAT long? I thought he was pretty much ready to go

Anywho,

Sorry,

wanted to post a link but I'm still a new member, and I don't want this to be about BleacherReport... anyways, it's the article titled, "Examining How L.A. Clippers Will Fill the Chauncey Billups Void"

He said that he's ready to go but you know how that is. All these players say they're ready to go. So who knows really when he'll be back. I want him to come back when the doctors clear him to play. In the meantime we have players to fill that void as the laker d*ck sucker writer put. I'm sure the article is saying that we have no one player to fill that spot and that's true but we have multiple pieces that can be put at the SG position and help us while Chauncey is out. We'll be fine with Chauncey out and we'll be even better when he's back in.

"I think if I was younger it would be tougher," said the 36-year-old Billups. "But I'm not fighting myself off at all because I know how severe this injury really was. And I'm not going to compromise all the hard work that I've put in all summer ... to get back a week earlier."

Billups tore his Achilles' tendon Feb. 6 in a game at Orlando and had surgery to repair it the Feb. 15.

He said all the talk about him returning from his injury in January or February was all media driven, and not anything the Clippers' doctors told him.

"My plan was just as soon as possible, as soon as I felt good," Billups said. "Obviously it's like a nine- to 12-month recovery and rehab period when you're supposed to return to play."

Apparently for him it is 9 months, said he will likely miss the season opener but be back somewhere close to the season opener, definitely not 1 or 2 months!

I expect him back in December sometime.

We don't know too much, but Chauncey's a good worker so I expect him to be ready to play pretty soon!

Don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed if he's returns latter than you think. wink

I think we will be fine without Chauncey until he's 100%. I just hope he doesn't rush it and comes back 100% so he can still be 100% come playoff time when he can make his Mr Big Shot shots from 3pt range.

Between Crawford and Green we should be ok at the SG. We can even go big and play a mix of our SFs at the 2 and 3.

You're right expect him to come late, and be surprised and excited when he shows up early, got ya!

I say we start Crawford and fill the void on the bench with Barnes. I think Crawford could be a terror running with CP3 and Blake Griffin as the main options.

That's what will most likely happen, or we put in Willie green who is a terrible terror from the 3! And he has some defense!

I like this much better. I love Jamal but we have enough fire power in the starting unit and we could use some more defense.

Also I love the Idea of having Bledsoe, Odom, Hill, Barnes and Crawford running the second unit.

I really want Leslie to get a chance to play, play him in the blowout games, and let him dunk it down!

i am really in love with the second unit we have. this team is almost like having two separate teams that can be starters due to the depth. i just hope vinny has good rotations and doesnt over work anyone. i honestly think our starters should only play like 30 minutes per game to be well rested for playoffs. i have a lot of confidence in our second unit

I think Leslie should get some playing time! Does anyone else think that?

Hey are you saying our guys are so bad? Cause Leslie outscored all of them except Griffin!

No, just saying he won't get much court time with the Clipps and he should hone his skills by playing......in the D league. Comprende.

He did play in the d-league, and he continued his performance from yesterday to today, I think he'll get playing time, if he plays like he did, he is better than Green! Truth!

I just hope he doesn't come back too soon. I'd rather him sit out as long as it takes just to be sure. Really just want him for the latter part of the season and to be 110% by Playoff time.

Crawford, Green and Bledsoe will be great to have at the 2 spot in his place. We'll still be pretty strong at the 2 until he returns.
