Repped High Quality Post

First off, I noticed Blake's knee is nothing to worry about and he is back to 100%. Next thing I noticed was Matt Barnes was stretching on the sideline. Nothing interesting there, except he was doing the stretches prescribed to someone with Plantar Fasciitis. Haven't heard anything about that, and hope that his health is not an issue. Last but not least, I noticed how good J Cross looked. I was a big fan of his when we signed him, but I was very impressed with his game tonight.

Jamal Crawford is an overrated streak shooter.

I want to know if Blake hit any Js. Already heard he missed the winning ft.

Most of the core players on the team wanted Jamal on the team. They know how valuable he can be, even if some of us don't. I'm happy we got him.

Plantar fasciatis is actuall really common. I bet 90% of the NBA has that problem including the coaching staff and other personnel. Just going on a long walk to the grocery store to by cigs and beer will rractivate that problem. Im not worried... Coming from the guy with constant sjarp pain on the bottom of my foot for 10+ years.

Some notes from the scrimmage: - Odom was half assing it like none other out there. He rarely ran on breaks or back in defense. Did the whole rasheed wallace ft line to ft line transition game. Even made a handfull of silly fouls on the break. its a genuine concern considering how he played last year and how some of us were poking fun at potential weight issues during media day. Is the dude out of shape? Lets keep in mind he turned down the opportunity to play in london - maybe he was vacationing. - crawford looked great but there were times where u got a taste of his "me me me" attack mentaily that all great scorers have - anyone know why grant hill didnt play? (he did practice though) - there was a noticeable confidence in DJs post game - nothing that makes you say WOW, but he did manage to create his own shot via spin move and even a sweet fadeaway jumper in the post - looking at the floor, youre just in awe as to how DEEP this squad is. i mean WOW. - lol at blakes reaction when they introduced him last and naturally got a loud applause. Dude walked out and did that whole " lock hands above your head and pump them in appreciation". Hard to describe but its what little pompous kids do. Absolutely hilarious. - looks like theres tons of off the court chemistry- guys new and old were having a great time. And its crazy since you have all these young freespirits and then that old veteran grant hill sticking out like a sore thumb since he's so professional but still having a good time. - lamar odom's candy of the night? now&laters.

So for those that werent there, how awesome is this- so its time for ralph to introduce the players and so they all lineup at about the free throw line. Caron goes to the other end of the court and yells at blake somethig along the lines of "c'mon". Blake then launches the ball the legnth of the court and SWISH. Crowd goes crazy. If thats not a sign for this season, i dont know what is.

Blake wasnt really hitting his jumpers, but it seems like he didnt get injured at all. Flying like always. Jamal was doing good too, and DJ showed some post game.

When Blake made that full court shot one handed with Caron on the other end, I knew this season is ours. Let's go CLIPPERNATION!!

The best part was that it wasnt like he took 10 tries. The dude randomly picked up a ball and chucked it.

Starting offense struggled a bit in the beginning, but nothing to worry about. Teams looking good and the chemistry is looking great. I was really surprised by Travis Leslie hit his shot and played good defense.

Yup, it was very random but when he made it I almost couldn't believe it, definitely something I'll never forget!

I hope someone recorded it!

As long as CP3, Blake Griffin, and DJ are healthy we are good. We have so much depth that even if some of our SGs or SFs got injured we would be fine. Some of the players on our bench are good enough to start on some teams!

I saw a lot of good things coming from the scrimmage:

  1. calm down everyone, yes the offense that was shown was a little sloppy, but didnt anyone noticed that the team was aggressive and vocal on defense. The team defense looked pretty good from what i saw, seemed like each team was looking down the paint which force bad shots.

  2. Deandre jordan has more confidence in the post, and has shown progress, the more he does it the more comfortable he will be, he shown a few glimpses of what to expect this year.

  3. Blake griffin and Jordans shot look more fluent and under controll which can help in his shot

  4. Billups was actually running in the workouts which is a good sign that he will be back by November or december.

  5. Im really excited about bledsoe this year, he look more under control on offense and showed flashes or brilliance in getting to the rim which equates to more free throw attempts

  6. Crawford did good, and yes he had some " ME " possession but imagine if billups or CP is running the offense, they will direct him where he needs to go meaning better results.

  7. butler shot looked. i hope to see that consistently this year in more than the 1st 2 quarters.

ok the bad.....

Odoms conditioning, he looked out of shape, but look on the bright side it isnt a condense season and he has a entire month of training camp to get into shape and i expect 10 ppg and 5 rpg from him this season

I'm not particularly worried about Odom, as I don't see him as critical to the team's success going forward. I see him as a low risk, potential high reward proposition. If he gets into shape and plays really well, great. If not, I think we have enough depth that other guys can pick up the slack. I think the way the league is now, there are games where we'll be able to play with a small line-up that uses on of our SF in the PF role. Plus, we have so many good, veteran leaders on this team that even if Odom gets mopey and distracted like he did in Dallas, it won't become a distraction.

Also, Pincus tweeted something to the effect that this is just how Odom is, even going back to his Lakers days. He seems to always take a while to round into shape. So, he may be fine by the time the season starts.

I am hearing good things about Travis Leslie. I am high on him like I was on EJ when we first drafted him. Travis can be the high flying type guy we have lacked at his position since EJ left. He can finish and I think he can become a defensive weapon for us. The thing that might keep him from starting is his shot, I hope it has improved. We have so many guys on our team right now and I wish we could keep them all but I think a couple are going to have to go

Yeah, that's how he was last (shortened) pre-season. Really looked like a shooter. Then he got in the regular season games and couldn't make anything. I need to seem him do it in real games before I'll be a believer.

Everything sounds great except for the LO part but being the pro that he is I expect excellence out of him as the season progresses plus he will have a full camp and new practice facility to help him get right before the 31st. Surprised to read how good Leslie and J Craw did. IMO with Paul/Billups at the helm I feel J Craw can be even better for us than both Mo & Foye ever were. Ebled and DJ doing well is a no-brainer since the pressure is on them now to get minutes with all the veteran presence on this team at almost every position.
