There's always people asking for this list and it will be very useful for everybody...Good job joe!!
IMO: Interesting free agents who could come very, very cheap:
Salim Stoudamire, Walter Hermann, Vujacic, Navarro, Craig Smith, Antoine Wright, Eduardo Najera, Jarvis Hayes, Kareem Rush, Diop, Bonzi Wells, Maurice Evans, Arroyo, Giricek, Elson.
Obviously these are not the best players but the best quality-$ ratio. None of these players should earn 5mil$. Opinions???Which of them you like? |

| Thanks for the list CJ- repped! Of the guys you mentioned Miquel, I like Vujacic, Navarro, Craig Smith, Najera, Diop, Mo Evans, and Arroyo. All of those guys are pretty solid players- Daniel Gibson & Ryan Gomes should be on that list too. Beno Udrih & Mickael Pietrus would be interesting as well but would cost more. |

| I wonder would we be able to afford a sharp shooter like gibson. That would be huge for us coming of the bench. |

| Matt Barnes could be our shooter that we need. I dont think he'll be too expensive. |

I'm all for that. I also would like to see Sasha or my long shot would be Pargo if he opts out. |

I agree 100% David. Arroyo is interesting cus he has somewhat disappeared behind Jameer Nelson and for Clip K.Dooling. I also like Udrih alot, and im gonna come from left field on this one, but Juan Barea can score and may be a nice spark plug! |

I added some names a bit unknown to my list.I explain myself.
Sincerely I haven't seen Stoudamire and Wright playing very much but Salim seems a scorer coming off the bench and Wright had great games in New Jersey playing limited minutes because he was hindered by Carter and Jefferson.
About Hermann, he played in Spain for some seasons and he was a good player. Furthermore he had an outstandind end of season last year when he was playing for the Bobcats but suddenly this year with Jason Richardson he saw his minutes decreased and finally he was traded to the Pistons. As the Argentinian he is, he could add some hustle and nuts to our second unit.
Finally about Barnes I don't really know if we can call him a shooter. I would pass on him.
Ups!!!I've reviewed the list and forgot one more unknown name: Shannon Brown!!I have never seen him playing in NBA but I saw him playing in Summer leagues and he was a good player. He's the typical combo guard, very strong and athletic. He was named MVP in one summer league playing for the Cavs. Ok. Summer leagues are summer leagues but a player who is MVP should be considered. This guy really needs an opportunity. He had Lebron over him in the Cavs so is obvious why he didnt get an opportunity. Give him a shot |

| Yeah I think the key to this free-agency is to find a guy who has been stuck behind superstars and then make sure he can come in make this team better. These players usually just want to start or have more minutes, as long as you up their salary some. They shouldnt expect big money if you allow them to compete for a starting position instead of paying them a lot and expecting them to be THE MAN. Milwaukee made that mistake with Bobby Simmons. |

| That is a long list. And it is a buyers market because not that many teams have a lot of cap space. So players will be signed at reasonable levels. And not that many players who can opt out will do so because the money left on their contract is probably higher than they can get on the open market. Except for guys like Corey. He is an example of a player who can probably get more on the market than he is getting on his last year. Sasha........we should be so lucky to get the "Machine". He is the best hired gun available and he plays smothering defense. The Lakers would probably match though. Why? You just can not replace him, and he their next best shooter after Kobe. Sorry, I misspoke. He is their best outside shooter. The percentages say that it is so. |

| I think sasha is a great shooter this year, but usually that is what happens on contract years people get hot get money then go cold. He would have to show he can shoot like that for more than one season. Remember the last player we signed like that(T.T anyone) and he never really paned out to do what we bought him for. Would also love to have pike back for a little farewell tour. |

| Sasha may be a fool but he's a shootin' fool. I'd love to see him in the red & blue. We need guards. We can get by with the PG's we have now especially if Lil' Bro' is back, . Cat's not a kid. We need an all star quality SG. Corey (if here) is really a SF. If we can grab a great SG or PG fine but I don't know what good one is going to leave his team. Back to reality, how about Ben Gordon? |

Ben Gordon sounds like a good fit. If Chicago is looking to sign and trade him, maybe LAC should think about swapping picks with them (unless it's a top two pick). How about Gordon backed up by Eric Gordon? |

What I would do to get us Monta Ellis...
Then there still is the Agent Zero option. |

| Man! So much depends on how healthy Shaun comes back! If he can play starting point that allows us to concentrate on filling the 2, either with the draft pick or via one of these free agents. But if he doesn't, if he can't be our number one again... I don't know. I just can't see us going through another season with Brevin and DD running the point from the starting position. Both are accomplished guys and great off the bench, don't get me wrong, but neither are who I want starting. With no Shaun, I think our number one priority is a starting point guard, and preferably a big one at that. There are certainly draft possibilities, though it would be a leap of faith for Dunleavy to entrust that position to a rookie... or there are free agent options. Either way some certainty as to Shaun's progress would make me feel a lot better! Who knows... a combo guy like Gordon might be the way to go, just in case. Personally, I'm leaning towards Bayless if our pick is high enough to get him. I'm with clipnasty and Monta, but I seriously doubt that GS will let him go cheap. Ditto for Louis Williams, but as with most of the "primo" guys on these lists, it will take "primo" money to shake them loose, and our owner isn't exactly famous for his deep pockets. Things change sometimes though... maybe DS will see that this team might have a chance at the big time and do the right thing. And maybe I'll hit the lottery. |

| Maybe the season ticket refund option is predicated on spending big $ on a monster. We should have extra cash if #50 leaves. We don't have a bunch of scrubs anymore. CK, EB and Big Al are top drawer players and most players would like to play with them. Again a lot depends on SL. Remember Steve Nash named him as one of the best young PG's around. Summer will tell. Maybe management knows something we don't. (I hope) |

| It's nice to be thinking we could get a quality top free agent...but I'd like to know which are your choices among the players which are not called top players and would be cheap for us. David and myself wrote some names but I haven't seen any other whole list from anybody. Come one!!! Be our GM and surprise us with your selections!! |

| Ok... how about: Salim Stoudamire, he might be a poor man's Ben Gordon just waitng to happen, Childress would be sweet but I doubt the Hawks would part with him. I like Walter Herrmann, he's an active guy and you're right about how well he played at the end of his last year with the Bobcats. He may just need time on the court to be a force, and could sub for Al and EB when we ran. I really like Louis Williams, unfortunately Philly does too, but he's not their number one so they might not want to pay him large. He's one of those "high school" guys who's just coming into his own and is a monster talent. Jarvis Hayes... I'm not totally sold on him, some bad taste left over from his Washington daze... but he's been good for the Pistons and might work as a 2 for us. We know that Diop can play, at least defensively. He's a player that if you get him cheaply enough is always a good deal. I think that Gordon Giricek and Roger Mason both are proven players, now whether we would want to go that way I don't know. Mason especially has potential. Giricek is a solid guy, but maybe you want more than solid from your starting 2? Personally I think I prefer to build via the draft, but certainly these are some potentially valuable players that wouldn't break the bank. |

The names on this list that keep coming up on CTB are Navarro, Ellis, Calderon and Ben Gordon. Those are my tops (especially Ellis). But if there are too pricey or difficult to pry away from their current teams ...
As second tier I like Craig Smith. He always plays tough against LAC. We could use him off the bench. Also I like Nachbar, he's a veteran forward who can do several things and be a good back-up if Thornton becomes the starter. OK these are not big dreams, but it's the complimentary players that can make your team deep and dangerous. And I'm always for seeing Boykins back. If they go for a SG, it's gotta be a top tier guy, though.
I think that if LAC does look to deal Corey, Toronto may be one of the few teams that would be a good fit in all respects. And they just so happen to have this guy named Calderon ... |
