19 years old, 8PPG and 6RPG in 20 minutes as a freshman. 61% from the floor. Off the charts athleticism and potential.

Should be fun to watch. 1 more year of college might of done him well but he was a steal at the 35th spot. He's got a lot of raw so here's hoping for the best .

On more year of college and he would have gone in the top 5 in the 2009 Draft.

Unfortunely, these highlight reel tend to show dunks. But DeAndre has a big wingspan, he can really rebound with athleticism, and can block shots. The offensive side will come with time. OH, and they say he runs the floor on the break like a guard floating down the sidelines.

I absoutely agree JAMFAN, he doesnt have to be that great offensively, because he can learn behind Kaman and Brand. What a steal!!!!

ProBasketBall News had him going at 13, Hoopsworld had him at gone by the 12th pick, NBADraft.net had him at 17, Sports Illustrated at 16. 2009 draft #5.

Which assistant coach does Kaman say helped him develop the most (I think Olshay)? Hopefully he can mold D. Jordan as well. No, I mean Kim Hughes.

He might be considered a steal if he develops but to me it looks like he has bust written across his forehead. He's 7' with an even longer wingspan and he can't block shots. On top of that, Shaq shoots better free throws than DeAndre.

I already looked his stats when he was projected as top ten a few weeks ago and I get surprised looking the few minutes he played in the last games:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/ga ... erId=36142

Maybe he had an injury or maybe he's still only a great basketball body and his coach didn't believe in him...I'm happy with his pick because as many people say the size cannot be taught...I expect he could learn to play basketball and do more things than only dunk. He'll be interesting to watch as our second center and providing this athleticism although we must patient with him because it seems that he still has to learn many things
