Anyone got any ideas?
I would think Memphis for Mike Miller.
I think he wants to go to Chicago (atleast according to his mom)... How about to Bulls for Hinrich?
But if Clippers get lucky in draft lottery today, and get D. Rose....I would just let him walk and not re-sign him...then use money on a free agent
What about Denver (they supposedly had interest in him in the past).. For Carmelo (they are shopping him)...Clips throw in their #1 pick and Mobley or Thomas |

I still like the Miller idea. But the sticky point is that Corey is not what memphis needs. So who would need Corey. The earlier post on Toronto and Calderon I think is the top option.
IMHO they should try to use the Magette trade option if possible regardless of what happens with the lottery. |

| I'm all in favor of Maggette for Calderon trade, unless we get Derrick Rose. Then I'd rather try to pry Monta Ellis from the Warriors by offering him more than they do. |

It's interesting how our conversations gravitate to Corey. I think we in Clipperland get blinded by his testosterone value. I'd sure like to look like him but... His jumper is streaky. He's injury prone. Has anyone seen him post up? That should require an immediate double. How many times have you seen him drop the hammer? How many times have you seen Big Al? How many blocks (none)/rebounds? He's not a great ball handler. He chokes in the clutch. He can't create his own shot. He gets his 20 but he doesn't help others get theirs (he's better now). He used to be a walking TO (better now).
What does he do well? He crashes the boards and he......(long pause). In other words maybe we (and he) think he's worth more than he is. If Al steps up, 50's excess expensive baggage. I'd love to get Hinrich but the Bulls have Deng. If there's a chance of Ellis, let him walk. Otherwise Calderon looks like it. |

| If however if Lil' bro' Shaun is OK then it's a whole new kettle... We may have him 2nd unit but if he starts (fingers crossed) then we'll be looking at a SG and someone to take Thomas |

Rumors are the Raptors would be interested in trading a PG to move up in the draft. Hello, thats our opportunity to grab Calderon. It's probably TJ Ford they are gonna be dangling, but throw in something sweet to the Raptors and they might part with Calderon.
I'm just putting this scenario out there, but I dont even know it's realistic value yet....
We swap 1st rounders with Toronto, we send them Maggette. They send us Calderon & Kapono. We draft Chris Douglas-Roberts with pick #16 (?? i think that's Toronto's pick). As I said, I dont even know if this would happen, but it's somewhat possible I think. |

That sounds like a great scenario, which I think would interest both teams. CDR and Budinger hould both be available.
The down-side: after this, there's not much $ available for free agency. The contracts of EB (not opting out), Kaman, Thomas, Mobley, Thornton, Knight and the two guys from Toronto would probably be over $54 million. The cap is expected to be around $57 mil (???). That doesn't leave much to go after a SG.
If that math is correct, they could do a sign-and-trade, OR go after a free agent but NOT BOTH. So can they possibly resolve both the PG and SG issues? |

| ^^Yeah I like that trade too. Also don't we have our mid-level exception? Maybe that could be used to sign Beno Udrih (if we don't draft a PG). |

Hmm I've been hearing of a high possibility of a Miller/Maggette trade but
I've also heard Baron Davis is testing the free agency...am I wrong cause if I am, I'm never trusting a laker fan again with this kind of information |
