Apparently prior to this contract he never really trained or worked hard in the summer and got by purely on skill and talent. I REALLY respect his honesty about how he finally got serious about improving and working out this summer. I don't judge the man even if he was lazy before coming here as long as he plays this well and is this great of a teammate. "This summer was actually the first summer I worked on my game. I usually just play off of raw talent," he said Thursday after the Clippers' practice. "But I....

Jcross has done everything in his power so far to make me look like a fool for doubting his signing with us, and I hope he continues to do so. Glad to see he's brought a new focus with him this season, and is truly dedicated to doing everything he can to be a strong and consistent contributor. I look forward to seeing what he'll do for us this season. He definitely couldn't have started out any better.

On a side note: why does it seem like everybody on the team spent the summer getting better and getting in shape except for the person who needed to the most? I really hope Odom redeems himself once the season starts. I'm just astonished by his lack of preparation and dedication...

It all starts with Griffin and Paul. These two guys are gym rats and the other guys follow them. It is now part of our culture.

The good thing about Odom, his deal is only one year. If he is not working out we can trade him mid-season.

Imagine what we can get for 8 mil, I would think we keep his contract and sign someone AWESOME for that money, if he doesn't play good. Hey guys you know how there are teams, that just aren't a fit for some players? Well I love just love how much thought went into making this team, because it is a perfectly compatible team. We're getting the most out of everyone.

I think the front office sat down and thought very carefully about selecting a player that would fill the void if chauncey billups didnt return to the lineup in time or simply got hurt again. Before preseason I was watching highlights of Jamal and most of his shots were buzzer beaters and long distance threes. He brings what we lost when chauncey went down whcih is three point shooting that would command more attention and take attention off of Chris Paul and the other payers. Essentially he can space the floor like chauncey did.

I love his shooting and i really hope he is the starting shooting guard until chauncey returns. In fact, I know it will take some time for chauncey to regain his form, so the coaching staff should start Jamal and slowly integrate billups back in. His minutes should gradually go up and jamals slowly broguht down. I dont want to see chauncey rushed in, plus it takes a while for the rust to be shaken off

Jamal is a great player but the last time I saw him play he was ball hoggin for no reason. (made a few shots but nothing where he was red hot) I hope he doesn't play like that during a time crunch... all and all the clippers look good... I dont care about their preseason record because its the perfect time to try things... but they looked good

It doesn't work like that when you're over the cap. There will be cap holds in place for any free agent we don't renounce rights to. Pretty sure we won't be doing that with CP3.

"The general purpose of a cap hold is to prevent teams from using room under the cap to sign free agents and then using Bird exceptions to re-sign their own free agents. If a team wants to take advantage of its cap space, it can renounce its rights to its free agents, eliminating those cap holds. However, doing so means the team will no longer hold any form of Bird rights for those players -- if the team wants to re-sign those free agents, it would have to use its cap room or another form of cap exception." - from an article I can't post the link to

He actually fits and isn't a ball hog since he ain't the pg. He only had the ball in crunch time against the jazz, and he made them pay!

Crawford has already proven he's a willing passer, and not a chucker. Shows what a good team environment will do for you as a player.

He's already developed good rapport with lobs to Blake. His handles are probably 2nd to only CP3 on the team. He can be counted on to break his man down and get a shot up in the clutch. He's currently the best FT shooter in the game.

Plus, he's just a good character guy and fits in well with the team. After the last Jazz game, he was on twitter complementing CP3, Bledsoe and DJ. Humble dude. Great addition!

Do you guys think we are better off with Jamal than Allen? I personally think Jamal has the perfect mix of veteran leadership and young style of play.

Yes in the offense we have with VDN we are better off with crawford. We don really run any plays its basically beat your guy guarding you and if someone collapses on you kick it out. We need guys that can create their own shot. Allen at this stage in his career is basically a spot up shooter.

Great signing. Amazing that he got this far with pure talent alone. Its also a shame too. A lot of NBA players could have become great or HOF caliber players if they worked harder.

I dont know if the fact that this is the first time he worked on his game over the summer is a good thing to be proud of or not, lol

in other words. "I would be a much much better player had I taken ownership of my career and had the work ethic since day one". I'd be pissed if I was an ex-teamate

For real? I's their such thing as dual-6MOY award for Bledsoe and Jamal kind of like when Grant Hill and I think JKidd both won ROY?

its crazy how talented he must be to last in the nba that long without even training. makes me wonder if he would be a perennial all star had he down what he should have been doing from the start of his career. but im glad that we got him at the right time.

Allen Iverson was kind of like that but with a bad attitude to boot. Who could forget about practice
