| The Orlando Sentinal is reporting that Corey Maggette wants to return Orlando where he started his career. The Sentinal does not say how they know this since they did not quote Corey directly. They imply the logical trade for Corey would be Hedo Turkoglu and one more player to make the numbers match up. Corey is going to want a pretty big number, but Hedo is considered a great value considering what he produces and the fact he is only due to make only 6.8 Mil next season. Another player, say maybe JJ Redick, would have to be thrown in. JJ Redick broke the Duke 3 point shooting record but then hurt himself during his rookie season and has never been able to break back into the rotation to get any kind of consistant minutes. These two players would add a lot of fire power to the Clips lineup. Hedo, who is a stud who seldom gets injured, would replace a player who was mostly healthy last season, but who has had a history of constanly getting injured. If Corey is going to leave anyway, we could do worse. Maybe we could do better, but no other trade rumors are out there right now to suggest a better deal is on the horizon. |

Hmm that't a very interesting proposal. Hedo brings a ton to the table: inside, outside, effort. And there are a ton of Hedo fans here (was anyone else at that Orlando game ... wow). JF is right, coudl do better, but certainly could do worse. JJRed could use a change of scenery.
I like it, but would Corey and Rashard Lewis be comlimentary? |

| Hedo's numbers for the season, rounded off, are 20PPG, 6RPG, 18EFF, with 46% from the floor, and 40% from the 3. During the semi's he hit 47% from the floor and 47% from the 3. At 6'10" he creates match up problems for other teams because he can score outside and inside. Quick release and he is hard to double team. JJ Redick hit 45% from the floor and 40% from the 3 but just did not play enough. He would be a good shooter off the bench for us. |

I'd love the trade but if I were Orlando I'd never make it. The only way if I were them is a straight up trade and with the $ Corey will demand it ain't worth it for them.. If they are whacko enough to do it we will have more $. Unless we get Ellis or Arenas it's another rebuilding year.
With our history of semi-good draft picks (not by us but the management)maybe we should consider a sign and trade and Tim Thomas or maybe Cat and a pick to the mix for one of the oft discussed guards. Golden state doesn't need a new piece however. If Thomas gets off his lazy arse and hits 3's maybe he'll be a good addition to GS. Another dream
Wouldn't you kill for Ray Allen? |

Not the way he has been playing in the post season. |

| ummm sounds good. I love Corey though, and Hedo is a Turk... but still if thats what it takes to become a effing team in LA then do it. I will not be a suppporter of the secondary team in LA, its kinda getting old and very annoying and tiring! |

| Yeah I like this trade too but like toohip said I'm not sure if Orlando would do such a trade. |

| After the year Hedo had you would have to wonder why they would give him up for Magg. I do not think this trade would be possible unless they feel they are not going to win with Hedo. Good for us Bad for them. |

| If Corey wants out, then getting Turkoglu would be a pretty nice return, but realistically, is Corey what Orlando wants? I gotta agree with toohip, I don't see the Magic making that move. If they were going to give Hedo up, especially considering his rep for strong late game play, seems like they'd want the inside muscle they were so sorely lacking in the playoffs. Obviously they have DHoward, but Detroit proved that if you CAN muscle him out of his comfort zone, (a tall order, but they did it) you can make a living inside on Orlando. Hedo and Rashard are both offensively gifted guys, but neither is much inside on the boards or blocking shots. Without Battie the Magic found out how vulnerable they were inside. It seems unlikely them giving up a major piece like Hedo for someone like Corey, who doesn't board anything like his physique says he should, and blocks only slightly more shots per season than me. If Corey wants to go, then our getting someone like Hedo would be sweet, I just can't see it happening. But, I've been wrong many times before, which is why I'm still working for a living, so we'll see. Tell you what, I wouldn't mind picking up JJ if there was a painless way for that to happen. He should be just about ready to step up. |

| Remember, this all started with a writer for the Orlando Sentinal who is close to the Magic situation and he feels this is the trade that would happen to bring Maggette to his team. I could imagine other trade scenarios but this is the one that a writer who follows the Magic closely thinks is the way forward. If this was Peter Vescy or some other outsider conjuring up a rumor I would less impressed. Where there is smoke there just could be a little fire. So let's wait and see if the fire really gets burning. |

Turkoglu should have made the AllStar team this year and I see as impossible that the Magic could trade him, too. Turkoglu has been the second best Magic this year after D12 but in some games he has been the best.
I hope your thoughts become reality JamFan but I see it impossible right now. |

| I dont think this could possibly happen.. Hedo makes $6.3 mil, I dont think Maggete will sign for that. He thinks of himself as making alot more than that. Maggete and Lewis couldnt exist on the same team either |
