Donald Sterling is really screwing up. He nixed two trades. One to get Andre Miller and the other to get Baron Davis. How stupid can he be! All he needed was to give up Lamar Odom and the #8 pick. The Clippers have Darius Miles who is better than Odom and not to mention Odom is more a pothead than a basketball player. Sterling might have kept the Clippers out of the playoffs. The west is still very tough.
Well it would've been great to get Miller or Davis, but if they don't have to give up Odom or Miles to get them then I say by all means that would be the way to go because those two guys are just so valuable to the team. I think Sterling knows what he's doing when he nixed those trades- he knows how special those two guys are. I think Odom will redeem himself big time this coming season and I hope he gets the chance in a Clipper uniform. Don't forget he lead the team in just about every stat two years ago and he pretty much guided the team to victories after victories in the latter part of that season. That team, without Brand, IMHO, was definitely playing much better back then than the end of last season when the team pretty much limped to the finish without Odom. Now even without Davis/Miller I think the Clippers will be a force to be reckoned with with all the guys improving + Jaric + the two rookies (if they don't get traded). The Clippers emerging as the 6th seed in the West is definitely very plausible.

I don't think Sterling has ever showed that he knows what he is doing. He has made bad decision after bad decision. He has put talent together before but has never kept them. He is the worst owner in sports. The Clippers almost made the playoffs last year with Odom missing 53 games. So trade him for Davis or Miller and you got yourself a winner. They need a point guard who will average more than 2.6 assists a game like unproven Marco Jaric did in Europe. Those two rookies won't see any time playing behind Elton Brand. And by trading Odom it will put Darius Miles where he is suppose to be - In the starting lineup.
Well as good as Miles is Odom is better. He may not be as athletic as Miles but his court-vision, passing, post-up, and mid-range game are better than Darius'. Look at the stats and you can see. You might say that Miles doesn't play as much but go ahead and extrapolate his numbers with the same minutes and his stats still won't come close. Until this season the Clippers were winless when Odom did not play, and though last year's team almost made the playoffs they sure would've gotten in there if Odom didn't miss all those games. Miles and Odom can both be in the starting lineup if Gentry would start Lamar at PG. I don't see why not- that would be a killer lineup. Odom will pick apart the opposing team's defense by posting up the smaller PG's. As far as Jaric goes- as he said himself in Europe they count assists very differently which make it much more difficult to get an assist credited to you. From all the things I've heard he is going to be a very pleasant surprise. I can't wait to see him play.

Miles is improving everyday and will be a premier player in the league. You can't count on Odom to be healthy or to do what is right. Remember he gets kicked out of the league if he gets caught with weed one more time. He is not very reliable. Miles will really come into his own this season. Jaric may do good in Europe, but he is still unproven and could struggle in the NBA. Baron Davis and Andre Miller have proven they can play and dominate in the league. No matter how good Jaric is, he will never be as good as Davis or Miller.
Nah, homes... Odom is da core of tha team. Miles is getting better and may become one of the best players in the NBA, but as of right now I would say Odom is. Odom just has a more complete game package then Miles.
I wouldn't count out Jaric as being better than Miller and Davis. Look at the other European players that have come to the NBA, Gasol, Peja, Dirk, they are all great players. Even though everyone said that they were unproven!

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the core of the team suppose to reliable. Everyone says Odom is a liability. Elton Brand is the core. Playoff talk didn't start until the Clippers got Brand. He is the most consistant player on the team. He is the one the team looks to. He is the leader. A leader doesn't jeprodize the team by getting caught with weed. As for Jaric, he will never be better than Miller or Davis. Gasol and Peja are not better than they are. The only one you can make a case for is Dirk Nowitzki. There are very few great European players. Just because there are a lot of Euro's in the league doesn't mean that they are great.
Odom is not going to screw up again- that suspension last year really drove the point home so I seriously doubt he'll do it again. As for Brand- just for the record I think he's awesome. But keep in mind when he was with the Bulls they were the worst team in the league- not his fault but even with all his hard work it still wasn't near good enough. This Clipper team has several "cores", and Brand is one of them. But again I don't think you can say Elton Brand is "the" core. Even without Brand if Odom played most of the games last year they would've right up there in the upper-30's in wins.

I sure hope that Odom will screw it up, but I am just skeptical. Odom is a talent and a half and if he does stay healthy they will be great. But the reason why the Bulls sucked was because there was no one around Brand that could play. I'm really excited about the season, but I still want Davis or Miller.

Oh and by the way, I didn't post that No Davis, no miller, no playoffs thing. I think that guys is just and idiot. I am a big Clippers fan but I am just trying to argue that the Clippers would be better off without Odom and with Davis or Miller. And not to mention, I hate the Lakers.
Yeah that Laker fan is very annoying- he used to just post all these retarded messages and I had to go around deleting them. But if you could please make an account for youself and that way you won't show up as anonymous- it only takes less than a minute.Going to the Odom or Miller/Davis discussion- I honestly don't think having Miller/Davis sans Odom would make the Clippers a better team than Odom without Miller/Davis. Odom just does so many things well including playing great D' and rebounding and blocking shots. You're not going to find another player in the NBA at 6'10" who handles the ball as well as he does. And a big factor that should be considered is team chemistry- Odom's teammates love playing with him because he's very unselfish. Not to say that with Miller/Davis there won't be good chemistry, however, but who knows. Again though I would love seeing Miller/Davis on the team, but just not for Odom.

That is one thing I am afraid of with trading Odom. Most of these guys have been playing with each other since High School and they are not just teammates but really good friends. Oh and I registered, but I haven't been sent a password.
Yeah exactly- these guys really like playing w/ one another (+ they REALLY like being Clippers) and if you start breaking them up that comraderie might be hurt and gives them one less reason to stay when their contracts are up. Okay can you let me know if you still haven't received the password? If not you can tell me what password you would like and I can change it for you. Just send me an email . Thanks.
