Clippers 75, CSKA Moscow 94 (Preseason Play - NBA Europe Live Tour)

[excerpt] Trajan Langdon scored 17 points and Tomas Van Den Spiegel added 16 to lead CSKA Moscow to a 94-75 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in an exhibition game Saturday.

Center Chris Kaman had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Corey Maggette scored 13 points for the Clippers, one of four NBA teams taking part in a European preseason tour and the first to play in Russia since the Atlanta Hawks in 1988.

"I'd love to come back and play these guys when we're definitely in shape -- to show them what we can do," Maggette said.

"Beating a team from the NBA is not a thing that happens often," said Theodoros Papaloukas, who had 10 points and nine assists for CSKA.

Los Angeles forward Elton Brand said he "definitely (had) flashbacks of Papaloukas," who had 12 assists when Greece beat the United States in the semifinals of the world championships.

"He's a great player," Brand said.

Dunleavy said the game was a good test for his team ahead of the new season.

"It tells us how far away we are," he said.

CSKA's Italian coach, Ettore Messina, said the team must "stay extremely humble" after the win.

A bit dissapointing lose but not a surprise.CSKA is a great team, in fact they won Euroleague last year and after seeing all the embarrasing loses of USA teams versus the Euros it's only one more lose.We must say that the Clips are just starting his preseason but to lose by 20 points is what really can scare us...As Maggette says maybe if the Clips played versus CSKA in the middle of the regular season then the result would be different but we can't know it. I think that Stern wanted to show in this EuropeLive Tour that the disaster of the USA national team didn't involve the NBA but after seeing the Clips and Sixers be defeated by the Euros it has been another proof that the distance between NBA and Europe is shorter than ever...I think that there's no discussion that the NBA players are individually much better than the Euros but I think that, as we always say it's a team sport, and the USA players doesn't know to compete as a team...Day after day the USA teams are beaten the same way:playing as a team, with strategy, pick&rolls,screens...it seems that as Alicia Keys says: You don't know my "game"
