Despite allowing a large number of offensive rebounds again the Clippers were able to play solid defense overall en route to a nice 85 to 73 victory (box score) over Minnesota. Al Thornton got the offense going early but didn't really do much after the first quarter as he finished with 11 points (3 of 10 shooting) and 3 boards. You have to love how he draws fouls like Maggette though. In the first round of the battle of who's-the-better-rookie between Al and Corey Brewer, Al had the edge as Brewer really struggled with poor shooting and turnovers. Paul Davis bounced back with a terrific game, especially in the first half. Paul played hard and shot his jumper nicely. He had something like 11 points and 11 boards in the first 20 minutes alone. Kaman missed most of his jumpers but his solid post play netted him 15 points to tie Davis for team-high. He could've easily had 25 if he didn't miss some easy shots around the basket and had made more jump shots. Will Conroy had a nice game- he actually outplayed Jared Jordan overall tonight. Will had 6 points, 5 boards, and 6 assists, including a beautiful behind the back pass to Kaman for a layup. Diaz missed a lot of shots but down the stretch he was flawless at the line to help put the game away. Mike Gansey was pretty solid overall, though he did throw some bad passes near the end of the game. Abukar didn't get to play much, nor did Sy and Santiago. But the three of them were pretty effective overall in limited minutes. Korolev didn't play again, so hopefully we get to see him tomorrow as the game will actually be on real TV (NBA TV if you have it). It'd be nice to watch the game on a bigger screen with clearer definition for a change!
