[excerpt] Take a second to imagine all that raw talent on the Clippers' roster being handed to the best free-agent coach on the market this summer.
That's right.
Now forget that was ever suggested.

Assume Sterling would pay, of course Van Gundy is the best out there. But I like personally like Danny Ainge. I've heard him as a color analysis for a clipper game (I think it's on ESPN) and everything he said made perfect sense. (I wish I still remember to offer an example) What do you guys think?
Who's your favorite among the available coaches?

I like Van Gundy as well. But I don't think Sterling is going to be able to get a big-name coach to come in with the free agency situation as it is. No one, but Sterling, knows who is going to be playing here next year.
I really don't think Van Gundy or Ainge would be interested in that scenario.

Hmmmm- I'm not sure. Maybe they can somehow lure one of the current coaches over here. I would love to see Larry Brown coach the team again. But who knows- maybe DJ will do- though his team has had a bad start in his tenure and I'm still waiting to see the improved defense.

Didn't they went to the playoffs in 2 consecutive years with Larry Brown? He's a great teacher, perfect for the young clips.

As for Van Gundy, the Knicks are going to want either money or a draft pick.
But I still think no coach will want to go into that chaotic situation they are going to have this summer.
Let's hope that they start to respond to DJ soon.

I thought Van Gundy resigned and he's no longer Knick property? I could be wrong, however.

Van Gundy resigned but he is still under contract. He supposedly still works for the Knicks.
