Well i think the clippers should just have faith in their young players such as ross, ewing, singleton, and wilcox. They should stop worrying about signing new players and worry about their young players and the talent they have; which hasnt been shown. All of these players have great talent and by signing new players it puts these young players in a situation where they get kess time to mature their game' not only that less minutes.

I don't think Brent barry is a free agent. From what I see, he is signed through the 07/08 season.

    Jason Kapono a clipper?

Posted by: Anonymous on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 - 01:14 PM
    Clipper Blog
The clippers should go after the jason kapono because he's cheap player that provides offense off the bench and could hit threes accurate shooting 43. percent. Last season with charlotte he averaged 8.5 points a game with 2 rebounds in only 18 minutes a contest. He nice back up for corey maggete and Jason also could play a little bit guard, put mostly small forward. What's interesting about Jason is that he's 6'8 that shoots very well from anywhere. With the addition of jason that makes the clippers attack stronger and makes the depth of the bench deeper.

    2006 NBA Free Agents

From Brendan McGovern, Your Guide to Basketball.

Top 25 2006 NBA Free Agents ... and Beyond

After being put on hold for over a month, the 2005 NBA Offseason hasn't exactly proved worth the wait. Will the 2006 NBA Offseason be another snoozer? Here's an advance look at who'll be available on next summer's free-agent market.

A few things to bear in mind ... "Restricted" signifies that a player's current team can match any contract offer made by another team. "Team Option" and "Player Option" mean the team or player has the right to void the player's current contract, making him an unrestricted free agent. And, in that vain, the following guys with options on their contract won't be headed anywhere:

    Carmelo Anthony, SF (Denver's option)
    Nick Collison, PF (Seattle's option)
    T.J. Ford, PG (Milwaukee's option)
    Jarvis Hayes, SG (Washington's option)
    Kirk Hinrich, PG (Chicago's option)
    Josh Howard, SF (Dallas' option)
    Darko Milicic, C (Detroit's option)
    Luke Ridnour, PG (Seattle's option)

    BEST SF STILL AVAILABLE

Posted by: kmksmoke on Wednesday, September 07, 2005 - 06:14 PM
    Clipper Blog
As JamFan has said, the Clippers big remaining roster slot would be a backup for Corey Maggette at the SF spot. I don't think Korolev will be ready for that role. I honestly think his development will follow that of Darko Milicic in Detroit. I doubt if he will get many minutes during his first 2 seasons. I actually think he will be the "closer", coming in during the closing minutes when the game is wrapped up (hopefully in the Clippers favor). So which remaining free agents should the Clippers go after to fill this void in their roster. I have put together a list in order. Hope you agree. (Last team played for in parentheses) Stats are per 48 mins.

    BABY FAT

Posted by: kmksmoke on Saturday, September 03, 2005 - 07:27 PM
    Clipper Blog
It seems that our 2003 2nd round pick, Sofoklis Schortsanitis, AKA "Baby Shaq", has reported to his Greek team, Olimpiacos, weighing in at 182 kilos. For us Americans who don't know the metric system, that is a whopping 400 pounds. If the talk is serious about the Clipps trying to bring him over for this up coming season, he better loose some weight. 400 pounds is more than John "Hot Plate" Williams weighed while he played with the Clipps in the mid '90's, and they are both the same height. That's even more that big Stanley Roberts weighed, and Stanley was a few inches taller. After hearing this, I doubt "Baby Shaq" will be coming over this year, and if he is serious about having a NBA career, he better hire a personal trainer and loose at least 100 pounds!!

WHEN THE GAMES ON THE LINE, GIVE THE BALL TO...

Posted by: kmksmoke on Friday, August 26, 2005 - 09:37 AM
    Clipper Blog
This years off season has been very exciting for Clippers fans. For the first time in the teams existence in the city of angels, they have spent big money on another teams free agent. That's not to say that they haven't tried in the past. They did try, with all their might, to steal Kobe from the Staple Center's other tenants. But this off season has been different. Now, we have to determine who should take the big, game winning shot.

As I see it, the team has three legitimate contenders for this roll, Corey Maggette, Sam Cassell and Cuttino Mobley. All three of them have their strengths and weaknesses when it comes down to who should succeed when the game is on the line. But which one's positives out number the negatives?

    LET THE DEBATE BEGAIN!!

Posted by: kmksmoke on Thursday, August 25, 2005 - 11:00 AM
    Clipper Blog
Who should start a PG this season for the Clipps? Should it be the seasoned veteran or the young superstar in the making? Well it depends on how you look at it.

If you think that the Clippers are poised for a long post season run, then it's a no brainer, you go with Sam Cassell. But in doing that, will the Clipps stunt Shawn Livingston's growth? Will Livingston feel that the team is already giving up on him?

But if you think this season should be considered a stepping stone to future greatness, you have to start Livingston, and let him learn by throwing him in the fire. But in starting Shawn over Sam I Am, will that create so much drama that team chemistry goes out the window.

    BRING PIATKOWSKI BACK!!!!!

Posted by: kmksmoke on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 - 09:57 AM
    Clipper Blog
The Clipps can use all the outside shooting help possible, and Scott Padgett would help big in that situation. Another thing I've heard lately is that the Bulls are shopping Eric Piatkowski and his 1 year/$3,000,000 contract. I know they are looking for a big body in return, and I don't think the Clipps really have something equal to return in the form of a big body, but it would be nice if the Clipps could find a way to get him back in his # 52 uni to finish his career. He did put up his best numbers in the Red, White & Blue, and he is still a deadly 3 point shooter. And as a long time Clipper fan (since '86), I noticed that he was always a crowd favorite (I can remember the excitement in the crowd when he would receive a wide open pass beyond the arc and before he even caught the ball the crowd already knew what was going to happen, any Clip fan from the mid 90's knows what I'm talking 'bout). So lets start a petition. "BRING ERIC PIATKOWSI BACK TO THE CLIPPS!!!!!". Anyone agree with me???

    what happened to lucious harris?

has anyone heard about harriss because since he was released by the Cavaliers, not alot of thems have shown interest the veteran guard. No one has made an offer, my opinion is the clippers should give him a two year contract worth about 3to4 million. The clippers could use another veteran like harriss how had a terrible season with cavaliers. Harriss will be cheap but would bring alot to the table.

    Paul Pierce Rumors

Posted by: jamfan on Friday, August 12, 2005 - 09:43 AM
    Clipper Blog
Here come those Paul Pierce rumors again. After laying dormant for several months the rumors are surfacing again that the Clips are inquiring about the services of Pierce from the Boston Celtics. Apparently, the inquiries have been within the last week. It's unclear who the Clippers might be offering in a possible trade. Is it part of the effort to complete a sign and trade to move Jaric? Is Chris Wilcox involved? Would Boston ask for Maggette straight up? Nothing is really known about any specifics. Just rumors of "unnamed NBA officials." Meanwhile, "reports" that after the Clippers met with Jaric on Sunday to discuss his possible role if resigned for the upcoming season, Jaric was told to give the Clips a couple of days to come up with some numbers. How many months have the Clippers been working on this? You would think they must already know what their numbers would be for Jaric. Could it be that the most likely scenario is a sign and trade, Jaric (and others) for Pierce? That would be a situation that would take at least a few days to pull off. If Magette isn't in the deal, where would Paul play? He can play small forward and shooting guard but wouldn't be happy unless he's starting. He is a career 43% shooter averaging 23 points a game. Could the Clippers be looking at him to be "the guy" in the last 5 minutes of the game to bring victories home? That is still the Clippers most glaring need. Squandering 4th quarter leads is a Clipper trademark. Lots of questions with few answers. Keep checking in with TopBuzz for updates on these rumors.

    Grant A Clipper?

Posted by: jamfan on Thursday, August 11, 2005 - 10:38 AM
    Clipper Blog
Now that the Lakers have released Brian Grant and his 30 Million dollar luxury tax bill that goes along with him, the speculation begins on where he ends up. One rumor is that he's headed back to Miami. Their frontcourt, however, is already overloaded. There just isn't much room for him there. On the other hand, reports say that Brian has developed some good relationships in LA. Those reports sounds like a guy who might want to stay here so why not make him a Clipper. It certainly wouldn't cost them very much. The Clips haven't resigned Mikki Moore, and if they did, it just gives them three 7 footers and 3 guys who can play center. That third guy who can play center is, of course, Chris Wilcox. One day he's facing a maximum 3 years in prison. The next, case dismissed, and he's headed back to LA for an uncertain future. The Clippers didn't let him play in the Vegas Summer League after arriving late. After playing brilliantly while filling in last season for the injured Kaman, by the end of the season he seemed to be in Coach Dunleavy's dog house. Mark my words, someday, someway, Chris is going to get his act together and break out to become a great player, maybe even an All Star. I just hope he is a Clipper when it happens.
